Rolls-Royce are one of the oldest and most well-known car makers in the world. They have always been connected with wealth, power and authority. More importantly they have a reputation for building cars which are designed to deliver the ultimate in luxury.
Among classic cars, the Rolls-Royce are the gold standard in UK classic cars.
We have been fortunate enough to restore a large number of classic Rolls-Royce vehicles, taking them from needing serious attention through to a fully restored vehicle. We are experienced in Rolls-Royce models. All levels of work undertaken from engine rebuilds to changing a headlight.
Our restoration work covers both original models in the earlier series, through to more contemporary classics.
Rolls-Royce is a British luxury car and later an aero-engine manufacturing business established in 1904 in Manchester, United Kingdom by the partnership of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce.
Building on Royce’s reputation established with his cranes, they quickly developed a reputation for superior engineering by manufacturing the “best car in the world” – the Silver Ghost, which boasted a 7,428 cc six-cylinder engine and sold almost 8,000 units (now one of the most expensive cars in the world).
The First World War brought them into manufacturing aero-engines and in 1940 they began joint development of jet engines. This move gave Rolls-Royce an enduring reputation for development and manufacture of engines for defence and civil aircraft and a strong connection with the military and monarchy alike.
Perhaps one of the most recognisable elements of the Rolls-Royce history is providing cars for heads of state. The Phantom IV, produced between 1950-1956, was only ever produced for heads of state with 18 original vehicle’s ever built. Indeed the name Rolls-Royce has always been synonymous with wealth and power, a display of status in UK society – from Kings and Queens to owners of large businesses, right through to today and the world’s most famous celebrities, all showing off their collection of Roll-Royce models.
In the late 1960s, Rolls-Royce was adversely affected by the mismanaged development of its advanced RB211 jet engine and were nationalised in 1971. The Rolls-Royce business remained nationalised until 1987 when, after renaming the owner Rolls-Royce plc, the government sold it to the public. Rolls-Royce plc still owns and operates Rolls-Royce’s principal business, however in 1998 BMW licensed the rights to the Rolls-Royce brand name and logo from Rolls-Royce Holdings plc, and acquired the rights to the Spirit of Ecstasy and Rolls-Royce grille shape trademarks from Volkswagen AG
A marketing survey in 1987 showed that only Coca-Cola was a more widely known brand than Rolls-Royce.

Contact us now“I purchased my 1954 R Type Bentey thinking it was a good one but I was wrong. Without you and your capable staff the car would not now be such an enjoyable car to drive and own. The engine rebuild is making the car perform and sound as it did when new and the power steering was a great addition for driving such a large car (at my age). Many thanks for the work done by all at Pride & Joy.”
“Knowledgeable, professional and friendly service. Not the cheapest in town but they do the properly. I have owned my MGA for almost three years now and since pride and joy serviced it and set up the 123 electronic ignition (which nobody else seem to be able to do properly) it has run and started better than ever. They made every effort to get my old fuel gauge working properly and sorted out a tricky bad earth on an indicator lamp and even delivered the car back home to me.”
